It’s almost impossible not to fall in love with Skellig Michael and the Dingle Peninsula, two of Ireland’s most breathtaking coastal destinations.

Skellig Michael, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for its dramatic cliffs, ancient monastic settlement and spectacular setting in the Atlantic Ocean. But as fascinating as its history may be, it’s surprisingly difficult to concentrate on centuries-old heritage when adorable puffins keep stealing the show! With their colourful beaks, comical expressions and irresistible charm, these little birds seem to have mastered the art of distracting photographers.

And then there’s Dingle, where nature has a similar sense of humour. You arrive with your camera, determined to capture the rugged beauty of the Irish coastline, when suddenly a dolphin decides that the scenery isn't nearly entertaining enough. With a series of ridiculously spectacular leaps out of the water, he makes sure that all eyes  5and lenses ) are on him.

Ireland has a wonderful way of reminding you that nature doesn't always follow your photographic plans. And sometimes, the most memorable moments are the ones you never expected to capture.
