White Ebony, the project

It all started with a photo report...but then I realised more could be done to support people with albinism in their quest for dignity. I strongly support the Mwimba Texas Foundation that supports people with albinism in the Congo.

PHOTO ESSAY

White Ebony photo report has won a honourable mention from Unicef Photo of the Year Award.
It is used as a tool to communicate positively and raise awareness about albinism in the Congo and in Africa.
Ä°t has been published and exhibited around the world.

WHITE EBONY: A VISION FOR ALL

"White Ebony: a vision for All" is a project that has been created in order to give children with albinism a more equal access to education.
People with albinism suffer from vision  impairments and often children drop out of school because they can not see the black  board and are neglected by teachers.
With the financial support of sponsors 150 children have had their eyes screened in an ophthalmological center  and many received a grant to go to school.

WHITE EBONY: RAISE UP WOMEN WITH ALBINISM

Because of social stigma, albino women  are often abandoned by their partner and are becoming single parents.
"White Ebony: Raise up albino women" is a micro-credit program designed to help albino women develop their professional skills, generate money and live in better conditions.
